I was DX with Celiac earlier this year and never had a skin problem until a month ago I was glutened and have had a couple small rashes show up then go away but yesterday there was one on my knee that really hurt and was very itchy. Today they did a biopsy. Does it sound like DH? The doctor gave me Dapsone cream for twice a day but what can I use for the itch between uses??? _________________ STZ

| Scooting this over to the DH section. You should be able to find more info (pictures, tips to help with scratching, etc) here. |

What did the rash look like? The classic rash is blisters, in clusters usually around the knees and elbows. But of course like all symptoms in CD, rashes vary. Mine are quite itchy initially. I'm never actually put anything on them, but making sure my skin isn't dry since that just seems to aggravate it. I think cold compresses help some people. I usually just wake up from sleep, realizing I've been scratching.
What did they biopsy? I think they are supposed to biopsy the area immediately adjacent to the lesion. My dermatologist took a biopsy of the lesion itself and the area around it. _________________ Rachel |

It is on my knee and the area is red with clusters of blisters. Sometimes they itch real bad and sometimes not. The biopsy spot looks bigger than the blister she cut at. _________________ STZ
