just diagnosed with Celiac 3 weeks ago and was asked to also have an abdominal ultrasound . they found what they think may be a blockage of a kidney drain. ???

I am concerned about the dye they will insert in me for the x ray with alll my new food issues.

I do not know if the dye is gluten free, but if you have trouble with shellfish some of them can be, so mention this to your dr. ahead of time. They will select an appropriate dye to use in the IV.

I have had so many IVPs done, it isn't funny!!! We did IVP all the time when I had a kidney stone. I had one that was shaped like a dagger and the 'blades' had poked into the tube in an angle and were stuck. The put a stent into the tube from the bladder to the kidney to help it pass.

I really feel for you if you have a stone!! I will not give you horror stories, but make sure they give you some good RX to have on hand if you get into pain. Crying or Very sad
