I've heard from my friends and family in that area that there is a gluten-free bakery called Annello's Pastries.

Manda mentioned this on another thread so I thought I'd take a field trip yesterday....purely research, you know. Laughing

It was pretty good. On their website they mention that their rolls are exceptionally good. I ordered a sandwich made on a roll. The sandwich filling was really delicious. It had Italian cold cuts, sauteed peppers, cheese, pickles and hot peppers. I think the bread would have worked out better if they had grilled the roll. By the time I was half done with the sandwich the roll had fallen completely apart. However, since I've gotten used to eating fillings without bread it really didn't bother me. I did buy some of their asiago rolls to bring home. I toasted one tonight, and it was quite good. Definitely improved by toasting, like most GF breads.

I also bought two bakery items. Their triple chocolate brownie was so good that it didn't make it home for my husband to try. OOPS! The texture and flavor almost reminded me of a truffle. The lemon square did make it home and DH and I split it. That was really good too. Excellent lemon flavor with a nice balance of tart and sweet. For a moment I got pretty excited when I saw cannoli (sp?) shells, but quickly noticed the sign that said they were not GF. Oh well, you can't have everything.

They serve lunch there every day, but don't expect to be able to eat inside. There were only 2 very tiny tables in there. No restroom either.

Thanks for the heads-up Manda!
