Not only is it OK for dessert, but you could have it anytime! Pudding - it's not just for dessert anymore

Not only are they GF, they are very yummy!! Their chocolate pudding is good too. I think they are even labeled as GF.

They are labeled Gluten Free, however if you are newly diagnosed you could react to the lactose so if they don't agree with you I would wait and try again later. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

Is it common to react to the lactose when your body is getting used to being gluten free? _________________ Sue

Hi Sue,
Welcome to the board!
Yes, it's quite common! In celiac disease, your villi are damaged. The tips of the villi produce an enzyme called lactase. The enzyme breaks down lactose [sugar component of dairy].
Often, once the villi heal it's possible to add dairy back in to the diet.
Of course there's the chance that you are also lactose intolerant - you don't produce the enzyme period.

Thank you, this explains a lot. I didn't quite understand the process even though my fiance has a dairy allergy (not intolerant to the lactose, but apparently an allergy).
I have had a hard time digesting certain dairy products since going GF.
By all of the posts I've read over the past week, I can say I am relieved and happy to find such a wonderful source of information and such supportive ppl.
Thanks. _________________ Sue
