Bare Escentuals is GF, but wicked expensive. I use Everyday Minerals. It is so much less expensive, and there are so many color choices. They will mail you a sample kit of 3 foundations, a blush and a concealer for the price of shipping (aroung $5). They are generous samples too - they last me for weeks. The whole line is GF.
I would be hesetant to generalize about makeup. There is makeup out there with gluten in it. You just have to know what brand you want, and investigate each one, or post a query here.

The finishing powder, mineral veil, I think it is called is corn starch. That is not a gluten issue, but if you have a problem with corn, you may need to avoid that product.
I avoid it myself as it also has parabens in it, because the product is perishable as it is not a mineral but a food item, I guess, and I react to parabens. I use plain cornstarch mixed with the powder sometimes, instead. |

Ok and there lies my problem, I have been using Clinique for years (and they have the lovely ladies who plop you in the chair and tell you what shade to buy) but I really hate the liquid makeup, how do you decide which of the gazillion shades to use? I tried reading through the website, it made me dizzy. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

I know exactly what you mean. The FAQ page over at Everyday Minerals has some tips on how to choose your color. I have even been told that if you email a picture of your face to them in natural light they will recommend colors for you. I haven't tried that, though. When I got my first sample order I chose colors that were way too light. My second order was perfect. You can order as many sample kits as you want, but only one at a time. _________________ -Colleen
