Hi, I am new. Just diagnosed with Celiac today....been researching for about 3 weeks....and I thank you all so much for this forum.
Anyway, does a peanut butter , say like Skippy contain gluten? Are organic brands better? MnM's or most chocolates? Razz
I heard hamburger does, but was wondering if anyone has had leaner
type hamburger and if that is better.
Thanks

One thing you will learn, is that it is impossible to generalize. What is GF today may not be GF tomorrow. One cannot say all of X food is GF, unless one is speaking of whole, uncontaminated foods like carrots.

At this time, Skippy PB is GF, but you still have to read the label every time.

At this time, all M&M varieties are GF, but that did not used to be the case They often introduce limited edition flavors, some of which have contained gluten.

Hamburger, in and of itself, is GF. But one needs to ask about the grinder at the store. Did they use it to grind meatloaf or meatballs with breadcrumbs. I have never seen a hamburger with guten, but others have reported that they have.

One of the best things you can do is to familiarize yourself with the companies that will not hide gluten ingredients. They make it so much easier to shop in the regular grocery store, because what you see on the label is what you get.

Keep asking questions.

Many people refer to ground beef as hamburger. Are you looking for hamburgers or ground beef?

Hamburgers may contain gluten. [One line of hamburgers that my dad's company carries contains a source of gluten.]
Ground beef sold at the grocery store as 'ground beef' cannot have any filler added to it.
