re: Motrin I can take enough to get a strange drugged feeling and it will only take a little of the edge off the pain. Since it helps so little and the vicodin works better I take that now that I have a script for it. Before I'd just not take anything, that's how much the motrin helped. If I took motrin and vicodin I bet I'd feel pretty near normal, but I don't want to need a liver transplant before I'm 30.
The combo of southern baptist and stay at home mom is quite a doozey! Since my brother and I are her "career" she thinks how we turn out is a reflection of her personal worth. Combine that with the uber conservative church's view (or at least my mother's interpretation) that a woman should be quiet, meek, married to a man that makes the decisions, and pregnant and we have a big problem . None of this grad student/entrepreneur hopeful who spends weekends in the mountains with a bunch of guys and motorcycles (most people with motorcycles aren't interested in long technical rides, and given the %age of female riders to begin with it ends up being me and a bunch of guys on pretty much every group ride. Yup, not at all like mom (who thinks she has done fine with her life) who thinks "adventerous" is going to a different taco bell for lunch! _________________ Lauren

Hi, I have read things about people with CD thinking that their pill may not be absorbing into their system. I was on the pill before I was diognosed about a year a go. Got off of it and got pregnant with my daughter. I am not back on it but scared that maybe it will not absorb into my system with now having CD, or now knowing that I have it.
What are people experiences with using the pill and peventing preg. since you have been diognosed? I read something about the sugar pills at the end having gluten so I just skip those until it's time for the new pack.
Thanks for any comments. _________________ Sarah |

I think that that some people have a harder time understanding why someone would not want children because more often than not, they grew up in the time period where that is what women did. Got married and raised a family. Our society is so much more concentrated on women working outside the home now and their careers that many women choose not to have children. I respect those that know they do not want children for one reason or another and are responsible enough to try and prevent it. There are some women that have children and do not treat those kids to a good life because they were not careful.
This post is focused on the Grandparents or those wanting grand kids from all of their children. _________________ Sarah |

So I've been off the birth control now for a while. I got a little nervous when my monthly cycle didn't start for some time, but thankfully it finally did. However, I have felt very bloated (and even look bloated) as well as been bleeding heavily which makes me very drained/tired & emotional (which I'm not usually that way). I was wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for just getting off the pill & trying to get your body adjusted back to normal? _________________ GF/WF B-Day: 11/22/2002 |

It's been years since I have been on the pill, but from what I can remember, this is fairly normal. Your body will just need some time to find "normal ground" once more. I wouldn't worry much.
In the mean time.. It's miserable feeling I'm sure! I'm going through some of the same symptoms, and it's not pill related. _________________ Kristie M.

Yup, eeyorific is right, your body is just trying to rebalance itself. One of the benefits of BC is reducing your flow and symptoms. However, if it continues for 6 months - 1 year I'd call your doc. The meds should be out of your system within a week of stopping them. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={
