Thank you for bumping this, I haven't read it before. How interesting, both children, as well as myself bruise very easily. Just yesterday, we were counting bruises that we didn't know how they got there.
I think I'll invite hubby to read this thread... he's always going around insisting he's not beating us!  _________________ Kristie M.

I've have both B12 and Potassium deficiencies (diagnosed with bloodwork B12 last year was below 138 and Potassium has always been low) with an assumed Vitamin K deficiency.
I too had bruising with sharp sudden pains in my legs and bruising in weird areas. Dizziness, memory and eyesight problems (intermittent).
Vitamin K deficiency is marked with decreased blood clotting. Potassium deficiency (hypokalemia) includes dizziness, nervous problems, mental problems.
Vitamin K is nearly impossible to test for - if you or a family member bleeds easily or bruises easily with no apparent cause: it is likely a Vitamin K deficiency and increasing Vitamin K through dietary measures can help unless there's small intestine damage. Please note: in my case, the Vitamin K deficiency has resulted in normal muscular wear and tear "causing" my bruises. Increasing Vitamin K has helped reduce the number.
Potassium deficiency, as my family physician recently pointed out is completely different. It's role is to help with nerves and muscles. Potassium can also be increased through diet. Note: if there's intestinal damage, this method might not work. There are Potassium pills, but they hold the risk of causing stomach ulcers or bleeding.

Adding to what I wrote before.....If the symptoms are increasing SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY THAT TREATS THE DEFICIENCIES - OTHERWISE SEVERE PHYSICAL DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
Here is what has helped me - hopefully it will help you as well:
1. I take 1000-15000mcg of sublingual b12 per month (I usually take the first 500 mcg mid-month and the rest during the last week). Your B12 level should be ABOVE 400 when blood tested. If it is lower than 200 you or your child could suffer nerve and brain damage, muscular wasting, and could end up in the hospital in a coma. My B12 comes from Twin Labs, but you can get it anywhere. Note: methylcobolamin is helpful.
2. I eat plenty of green vegetables now as Vitamin K and Potassium were extremely low. I also eat Dates and Figs which are high in these.
3. I supplement with a 12.5% solution of Magneseium Chloride crystals in water recommended by my allergist. I get this through a hospital pharmacy. This has helped with dizziness and nervousness and I'm certain it has been helping to strengthen my muscle tissues.
4. I take a multi-vitamin. With my intestinal issues, I had difficulty stomaching vitamins. Freeda Vitamins T-Vites without A & E have been helpful up until now, but I'm currently looking for a vitamin that has A & E (non-soy) and uses cholecalciferol and not ergocalciferol as the primary D.
5. I don't let myself get run down or stressed out. If you daughter is prone to standing on her feet a lot - for now, have her slow down until the bruising lets up.
6. DO NOT unless required in an emergency use any NSAID pain relievers (mobex, advil, motrin) as they will thin the blood and cause more bleeding.
7. See a hematologist that specializes in cancer or HIV. That type of hematologist will be used to seeing these types of deficiency related symptoms and will know how to treat them.
