A year ago,our pastor's daughter started having problems with eye control, not being able to walk unassisted and now is in a wheel chair. She is weak and tired and at times seems a little better and then she gets worse again. I do not know if she has digestive problems. Her parents have taken her to Mayo clinic, consulted with numerous doctors and had spinal taps, MRIS, PET scans, X-RAYs, blood tests, infusion treatments, ect. There is no evidence of a brain tumor, MS, and other known autoimmune diseases. They have said that it is a autoimmune disease, they just do not have a name for it.

Could these symptoms be associated with Celiac disease? Please help if you know anything about these symptoms. The family is doing everything they know to do to get her help. A year ago at Christmas time she was singing and dancing and well and then on Christmas night, these symptoms hit her and she has not been the same since.

Any help would be appreciated?

How sad...and frightening!

Have they tried going GF? It certainly can't hurt. What have they got to loose?

Gluten can be the root cause of neurological problems.

wow that is heartbreaking! and, as Al said, frightening. it's crazy how things can affect the body and cause change so quickly and suddenly....let us know how she's doing!!
