Can someone tell me quick if Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing is GF?

Never mind... I called them and the bottled Old Fashioned Buttermilk drsg does. No wonder I'm feeling weird!! I thought I had read somewhere they were ok! Darn it! Live and learn! You can't be too careful!

Not many of the main stream range dressings are ok. I think it Maria's that's in the lettuce area is usually ok.

Many Ken's Salad Dressings are GF.

Here a list of Marzetti's dressigs. The Y or N is for the GF status. I believe I have removed all the NGF dressings here.

The great thing about Marzetti's - they will list wheat, barley, rye or oats.

Let's not forget Kraft - they have lots of dressings. Just read the label, you can tell if it 's GF.

Thanks for the heads up. What does the label say? Can you tell us the ingredients? I'd like to see where the gluten is.

Are the Blue Cheese dressings really GF or have they just not added any gluten. I seem to recall that some Blue Cheese is germinated on bread. Am I remembering wrong? (I've had a MAJOR case of baby brain lately..) Wink

Hi Manda,

Some bleu cheese dressings are GF, some are not. You are correct about how the bleu cheese is cultured.

If they are saying that their bleu cheese dressing is GF - I'd have a tendency to believe them. I don't like that dressing myself...

I have a weakness for buffalo wings, but have been avoiding them for a while since they are not the same with out blue cheese dressing. Looks like as long as I have my hubby make them at home and we use one of the dressings you listed, I should be ok. WOOHOO! One more craving I can indulge. Smile

I have ordered my salad dressing from [b]WaldenFarms.com [/b]because it's not just gluten free, but fat free, and comes in small packages plus it taste good. [b]WaldenFarms.com [/b]This product is, suppose to be sold at Krogers, but I haven't seen it there yet.

FYI -

I still need to contact Kraft about this (sorry, I'm slow)...

BUT, I purchased the Kraft Roka Blue Cheese Dressing & Dip. There was nothing on the label that indicated gluten. However, I became severely ill for several days after eating it. I checked all the labels of everything else I had eaten, and we hadn't eaten out, so it seems that there might have been gluten in it. Also, my husband ate it with no ill effect, but my daughter ended up with sores on her mouth.

I will update when I hear back from Kraft (going to email now...)

Kraft is a CD friendly company. If there's gluten in the product it'll be on the label.

FYI:

Maytag bleu cheese from Iowas is GF, per their technical guru who told me over the phone: "there is not detectable level of gluten in our bleu cheese".

He wouldn't say GF, but that's just CYA
