Hello everyone....
I'm new here... ..but I've Been Gluten free since 05.... I didn't find out I had celiac until after I came back from China. The whole time I was there I never had a problem... Until I ate at an AMERICAN place TGIF.... Philly Cheese Steak... Go figure...RIGHT!!
Before that I had traveled to over 10 different countries...Even Started my own Bathroom Book...
Anyways my question is How safe is Japan?? I will be staying just out of Tokyo...
Thanks

I know it's not quite the same, but you may want to contact Amooliakin for tips on traveling overseas with CD. She did a great job when she went to China. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

UPDATE INFORMATION-----
First I want to thank everyone who assisted with my information url and web sites.. EXTREMELY helpful... I plan on donating money to the Celiac travel web site......Their Japanese writing information helped me big time in Japan.
Well I spent 17 days in Tokyo and Yokohama. I did work about 15 days and only had one problem while I was there. I have a list of a few places.. any place where you cook your own food is the best (LIKE FONDUE STYLE). Most meals were around $7 to $25. Shabu Shabu is a form of eating where you cook your own meal in Water. Some places have a grill in the center of the table. Small thin slices of pork or beef.. Fish is available sometimes. Carry your own gluten free Soy sauce. I did bring a lot of gluten free food like Crackers, cookies, sweets... and soy sauce.
Mugi is the name for wheat. And Benjo is the name for wash room (bathroom). This is the symbols used for wheat 小麦
Here is a machine that some places have. And you must order from them...Some have pictures..others do not.
Here is a menu from DISNEY SEA... I did find good priced and safe food at Disney SEA is like Disney MGM Studios
At my hotel they had these little signs....but Breakfast cost $22

Some stew and soups were safe...but not eye pleasing....
Some safe food was way way too expensive... _________________ GLUTEN FREE SINCE 2005....NO MORE BATHROOM BOOKS |
