|
|
Hey all,
Has anyone ever had issues with Klondike bars? I'm only GF (I do not have to be lactose/casein-free), and I had a Reese's Klondike bar on Sunday evening, and I was in a *world* of hurt...plus, not to be gross, but everything else I ate that day went right through me...
To back-track, I had some homemade GF artichoke dip with GF rice crackers, and then some plain grilled chicken that was cooked on a clean grill. I had a spoonful of roasted veggies and that was pretty much it. I'm wondering if it was just too much "soft" dairy at once for me...as the artichoke dip did have a significant amount of cheese in it... _________________ ~Torrey

| Did you call the manufacturer to get the GF status? Who is the manufacturer? |

Klondike is a Unilever brand:
| Quote: | Is there Gluten in your products?:
* Unilever Ice Cream is a member of the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network and the Food Allergy Resource and Research Program.
* We recommend consumers read the label each time before buying our product.
* If gluten is present, it is clearly listed in plain language on the ingredient label (i.e., wheat flour, rye, barley, oats, and malt).
* We do not publish a list of gluten-free flavors.
* We work closely with ingredient and packaging suppliers to verify gluten in all ingredient components including natural flavors, colors, and spices.
* Some flavorings may contain ethyl alcohol. However, because the alcohol is distilled, they would not pose a threat to anyone who is gluten intolerant.
* We apologize for any inconvenience, but it’s the best and safest way for you to know. |

Hmm..I read that label twice and gluten was not listed as an allergen...and none of the ingredients indicated gluten content, either...
Maybe it was just a funky stomach thing... _________________ ~Torrey

I don't know that I've had the Reese's Klondike bars but I've eaten the plain one's before and never had an issue. _________________ Cheers!
