Hey Everyone, I'm pretty new to being very strict on the no gluten thing, and I'm working really hard on the vegi's, fruit, and meat thing, with limited grains. I'm traveling out of state for a week and have been pondering what to pack in my packback that the plains will accept, and what to do while I'm there. Eating out will be a must- we fly into one city and drive 4 hours to another, and will be out there for a week. With my limited jaw mobility due to the accident, fresh vegi's, nuts and most fruits are out. Cold cooked vegetables are disgusting. Blech! I am also allergic to dairy and eggs. Any ideas? I can stop at a grocery store and pick up fruit cocktails and nut butters. Any other ideas?
Also, I may be staying one night with a family member who loves to cook, and doesn't understand CC. Is there any way to easily explain things to them? Sometimes it seems like family gets offeneded when I go eat at their house and bring my own food. Is there an easy way around this? Thanks in advance! |

What else do you like to eat? You might get some more ideas from this thread, but I'd say bring whatever you want to eat (as long as it's not a liquid or gel). I'm not sure if the airlines would let you take a freeze pack along, so you might want to avoid stuff that has to be kept cold.

Talk to them about it in advance. Tell him/her you're really looking forward to staying with them. In order to keep having fun you're gonna need to bring your own food and prepare it away from the other NGF food. Or you could always go grocery shopping with them when you get there. That's what we're doing on our trip out to CA. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={
