The ingredients I found online list modified food starch but don't say what kind. It is a Hannah Montanah photo for my daughters birthday party tonight. we are fairly new to this and I wasn't thinking when I got it from walmart to ask to see the package to check ingredients.

Hi Werrich,

Welcome to the board!

Wow - I think this is a first! I don't think anyone has ever asked about an edible photo before Wink

Do you know who made the photo? Give them a call and ask if there is wheat, barely, rye or oats in the product.

Most times modified food starch is corn based. If it's wheat based, it must be disclosed. It's best to verfiy.

Please let us know what you find!!

NFCA - Gluten-Free - or not gluten-free? Why is there a question?

Quote:
Modified Food Starch: Modified food starch can be derived from many sources: corn, tapioca, potato, wheat, or other starches. Most modified food starch in North America is derived from non-gluten-containing sources. It is still prudent, however, to check with the manufacturer, asking from what source the modified food starch is derived.
