| I'm looking forward to your next post. The words you used to describe your brain fog symptoms are exactly the way I've tried to explain it to my wife, and I never feel like I quite get the point across. |

Much of the time I felt "hung over". That's the best possible description I could find. I would say this would be in addition to the brainfog/inability to concentrate. So much of this stuff just kind of runs together - it's hard to tell where one symptoms stops and the next one starts.
Brainfog is a common symptom. Many other have experienced it as well.
It could from malnutrition - Vit B-12 def. does LOTS of strange things!
It could be from gluten itself. Gluten and casein [protein component of milk] have an opiate effect on your system. Some feel it maybe be related to this:

Here's some more conversation on it...

Needless to say, gluten can and does have neurological effects outside the realm of any nutritional deficiencies. This means no gut involvement what so ever.
If you're interesting in more technical/medical/scientific info - hop on over and see my friends at GlutenFreeAndBeyond.org. They can cover stuff much more in depth than myself. _________________ Al

| Well, All blood work for celiac disease is negative. Saw the neurologist this afternoon and he is scheduling me for an EEG and an MRI. What fun. I will continue to look into the NCGS issue and keep my fingers crossed that whatever is going on is not a major brain issue. Thanks again to everyone for their posts. |

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the update. I know how frustrating it can be. Good luck with the neuro tests. Please don't dismiss gluten just yet. After all is said and done, giving the diet a serious try might be very beneficial to you. What have you got to loose [besides your symptoms ]? _________________ Al
