I was diagnosed with Celiac about 8 months ago. When I get "glutenized" I seem to have problems with leaking after bowel movements. Is this normal? I have to constantly wipe even an hour afterwards?

I have never had this, nor heard of anyone else. Have you mentioned it to your doctor?

Hi Greenmobe. I had the same problem during recovery and while I was having my annual female checkup I had my colon checked too. Apart from hemmorrhoids caused by childbirth (they have never bothered me -- they are very high up), there was no problem. By experimenting, I have found that keeping my food intake on an even keel (not too much food at one time), it never happens. That, along with being 100% gluten free, has worked for me.
Maintaining a gluten free diet is serious business, and you must definitely try harder not to 'be glutenized' as you put it. You are harming yourself every time you do this and symptoms will return. Your life must be 100% gluten free. If there is any chance of gluten contamination, don't eat/drink it.

I have a follow-up with my doctor next week. I'm wondering if my contamination has come through use of Blistex - I just realized it wasn't on the safe list at Celiac dot com. I've switched to Chap Stick and hope that may have been the culprit as I can't think of anything I might of eaten that would contained gluten.
