Go to the types of ice cream, select a specific flavor and scroll down to the bottom of the ingredient/nutrition list, at the very bottom it will state, gluten free, nut free, sugar free etc. Almost all of their flavors that don't have some kind of cookie, brownie etc. are gluten free, watch out for the french silk, (I think that's the one), the flavoring was from wheat I think that was the only one I saw that you wouldn't think had gluten but it did. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

Glutton: 1 a : one given habitually to greedy and voracious eating and drinking
Does that mean we have to watch out for all the Glutton's that fell in the vat during the ice cream processing at Kemps? Gosh, they just couldn't wait... _________________ Cheers!

I'll admit to being a glutton when it comes to ice cream!  _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Has anybody checked out some of the new low-fat products from Blue Bunny, like their chocolate-covered raspberry bars? If those are GF I'll take a whole shelf full! _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

bump for Deb
Breyer's is a Unilever product - they will not hide gluten and have great labeling practices. _________________ Al

I see that you are located in Belgium. I don't know if what I say below relates to your country or not. I would not say that all soft serve at all chains is GF.
The soft serve from McDonalds is GF in the US. Here is a link to the McDonalds website
The DQ ice cream is on their GF list. I would be very nervous about DQ, however, considering how many mix-ins they use there. Seems like CC would be a great risk.
Hope this helps! _________________ -Colleen

I travel often to the states, and then I try to have a big plastic cup of soft Ice as an afternoon snack.
When going to DQ, i sometimes take a bananasplit for lunch.
I always warn them to keep away from all the cookie stuff.
Maybe I'm not the most sensitive patient, so far I haven't had any trouble with cross contamination.
At home in Belgium, I have to settle for a sundae at Mc Donalds.
Plan to go to Florida next two weeks. _________________ It's nice to be important, it's important to be nice |

I love Haagen Dazs Strawberry ice cream. Also, Cold Stone Dairy is very good because they have a list of all their ice creams and mix ins, and which allergens are present in them. They also mix the ice cream on an 'allergy tray' to avoid cross-contamination.

I believe that certain flavors of Blue Bell ice cream are Ok. The chocalate ice cream that I found had wheat in it. The CSA Gluten-Free product listing, listed several flavors that are gluten free, including:Coffee,White Choc Almond, Black Walnut, Banana Nut, Banana Split(regular & no sugar added), Buttered Pecan( regular & no sugar added), Choc Covr'd cherries, Cherry Vanilla, Caramel Pecan Fudge, Chocolated Chip, Chocolate Sundae, Country Vanilla(regular & no sugar added), French Vanilla, Homemade vanilla, Mint Choc Chip, Moo-llennium crunch, Strawberry, Tin Roof, Peaches & Homemade vanilla, Pecan Prailines & Cream, Strawberries & Homemade Vanilla, Rocky road(no sugar added, and Vanilla Bean (no sugar added)as well as all of the sherbert flavors. I love sherbert! I hope that this info helps! |
