Hi,
I was curious if anyone could recommend grocery stores and restuarants in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida. We finally get to go on vacation and want to make it as easy as possible on our little celiac. Thank you! marcy _________________ Thank you! Marcy mom to 4 youngest with CD, newly dx June 9, 2006. |

Hi Marcy,
Vacation - fun, fun, fun!!
There's always Walmart - Great Value brands are labeled GF if it's GF.
Ada's is supposed to have a good selection of GF foods too. I've never been there, I'm getting this from another board. You can call them see.

Oooo, good question! I'm visiting some relatives in that area this July, and was wondering how to work the food issue.
Thanks for the info Al! I was hoping to avoid Walmart, but I can go if we can't find Ada's Foods. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

If you want to avoid Wally World, then there's any other grocery store. You should be able to find most of your normal GF items at most mainstream grocery stores.
Any specialty stuff [breads, cookies, etc], you might want to bring along with you. _________________ Al

I was thinking about bringing a box or two of cereal with me, and maybe a loaf of bread. We won't be there long.
I'm more worried about dining out, since I'm sure we'll be doing that alot. Hopefully we can hit up restaurants I already know about. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Ada's is a gluten free shopper's paradise. They had so many products on their shelves that I send all over the country for! I only wish I had one near Michigan _________________ Lisa gluten free since 12/07

Funny, I didn't see one while we were there. We only had Publix. It had a few GF items (like cereal), but not much. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={
