I've had no luck contacting these people about their menu. This is one of the places I'll be stopping at while I'm in FL. Are any of you guys in that area? Any ideas?
Based on the menu I'm expecting a response like "Wait what? Glu-ten? What the hell. We don't have any glue in our food."
Edit: Fixed the title.  _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Yes, and based on the fact that they misspelled "reuben" as "rueben", I am right there with you on that expectation...
But remember, Tuesday is Singles' Night and you can bring your "four-footed child"! (I just found it interesting that they advertise Singles' Night and Children's Activities in the same paragraph...)
Ok, turning off editor/copywriter button now. _________________ ~Torrey

ROFL, and speaking of editing...the subject should've been "The Shell Factory". My bad.
Yeah, I noticed the mixed messages about the pets and kids too. I guess this is just one more reason to pack a "foodcase". _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I think I'd try getting hold of Ruth and checking out the fudge. Its sounds so much better. Good luck, if it was me I'd find an Outback. Although they are also few and far between in the Ft. Myers area. We usually eat at Sonny's BBQ when we go down south, they have one in N. Ft. Myers just off I75 at SR 80. Be prepared to sweat and bring lots of sunscreen, it is very hot down here this time of year, and be prepared for afternoon thundershowers which are a daily thing as well. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

Daughter - Check out their website. In a nutshell: a giant tourist attraction.
Kathie - Thanks for the tips! My grandma's really looking forward to going, so I think I'll just eat something else beforehand. I've been to FL before so I know about the thunderstorms (one of my favorite parts of FL in the summer). _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I haven't been in years but when you think Giant tourist attraction, don't think Disney. It used to be more like a big store with shells and touristy junk. You know like those buy 10 t-shirts for 5.99 deals you can only get in Florida. Waltzing Waters was interesting, when I used to babysit children we used to go there in the summer (it was in San Carlos Park) its a light show done with water and music. Now a really interesting tourist attraction in Ft. Myers is the Thomas Edison/Henry Ford Museum, if you are into history. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

I've been to Ft. Meyrs. But never to the Shellfish factory. _________________ Now faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see. -Hebrews 11:1

OK, so don't even bother with this place. Everything is fried. I'm surprised the salad isn't fried. The conversation with the waitress went something like this:
Me: Do you guys have a GF menu?
Her: *blank stare* Um, no.
Me: Do you even know what I'm talking about?
Her: No. That's the only menu we have. (the main menu)
Aunt (who was very cool about this whole thing): Could you go back and check on your hamburger ingredients? See if they're 100% beef?
Her, coming back later: I don't know. The box isn't very specific.
I ended up going back out to the car to get my cereal. Avoid this place at all costs. (The store itself isn't too bad.) _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Holy crap--that last quote from the waitress just absolutely kills me!
Yup--crossing that place OFF my list! _________________ ~Torrey

I know. I was mentally LOLing. At the first dumb look from the waitress the cross contamination alarm was going off in my head as well. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={
